Kevin Nash had returned home after another long night at work. He was tired, but he decided to stay up to watch a little TV. He grabbed the mail from his desk and sifted through it until he saw something of interest. He tore the envelope open and read the letter.
Mr. Nash,
My name is Derek Stratton. I am the owner of Stratton Enterprises. I am writing to you about an upcoming street fighting competition that is to take place in Los Angeles. My corporation is sponsoring the entire competition. This competition is only open to those who have street fighting skills. If you are interested in participating, please be at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday November, 18, 2006 at 8 a.m. sharp. You will be given full details upon your arrival.
Sincerely
Derek Stratton
Kevin read the letter twice before putting it down. He was definitely interested in the competition, but there wasn’t enough information. He decided to take a chance and go to Los Angeles to find out more about the competition. He could always change his mind about participating after he heard the details.
Since his best friend wasn’t currently working, Kevin decided to invite Scott to go along and watch. “Wow, this is awesome.” Scott commented when he heard about the event. Kevin made preparations for his upcoming trip to Los Angeles. He never thought to call his daughter and tell her about the event.
Kevin and Scott had just landed in Los Angeles. They hailed a cab and stopped at a local hotel to book a room before heading over to the coliseum. When they got to the coliseum, they saw hundreds of people standing around. Kevin wondered if he’d made a mistake deciding to come. “Don’t worry about it. I’m sure the competition will be more organized.” Scott assured him. They headed over to what appeared to be a line of people waiting to get into the coliseum. After an hour of standing in line, Kevin and Scott finally made it into the coliseum.
There were tables set up where the entrants would register. Once registered, Kevin was directed to enter the stadium and have a seat. After they were seated, they looked down at the large field and saw several men standing around. “I wonder which one of those guys is Derek Stratton.” Kevin said. Scott shrugged and looked around at all the people. “This thing is going to be huge.” He remarked. The crowd hushed moments later as a man with a microphone began to talk.
“Welcome to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. My name is Derek Stratton and I’m going to be sponsoring the Stratton/Logan Street Fighting Competition that you’ve entered. Now, I know most of you are probably wondering what’s going to happen. Well, I’m about to tell you.” Derek said.
Kevin studied the man who’d sent him the letter. He was a little short, but clean cut and he was wearing a black suit that made him appear to be very professional. He noticed that the man had short black hair and he seemed to be running the entire event.
“This competition will be very dangerous, so if you’re having second thoughts, leave now. Otherwise, let’s get on with it.” Derek remarked.
Kevin didn’t notice anyone leaving, so he turned his attention back to Derek.
“The competition will be broken up into three rounds. First, you will have to pass the quarter-finals. Then you will move on to the semi-finals. If you can make it past the semi-finals, you will enter the final round of the competition. If you manage to win this competition, you will win a check for five million dollars and you will be crowned the Stratton/Logan Street Fighting Champion.” Derek explained.
“Wow, Kev…five million bucks is a lot of money.” Scott commented. Kevin nodded and waited for more. So far, he liked what he was hearing.
“There are approximately one hundred entrants in this competition, but only twenty of you will enter the quarter-finals. The twenty individuals will be selected based upon experience, strength, ability, as well as talent. Ten will move on to the semi-finals and only five will pass through to the final round of this competition. The competition will take place in this arena, right here on this field. You do not have to pin your opponent. You simply have to fight until only one man is standing.”
Kevin decided that he definitely wanted to be a part of this competition. This was his area of expertise and he knew he could make it to the finals.
“You are expected to be here every day at eight a.m. sharp. The matches will begin promptly at nine. If you are scheduled to fight, you’re name will appear on the screen above me, so pay attention to that screen. Next to your name, you will see a time displayed. That is the approximate time that you will come out onto the field for your match. If you are not scheduled to fight that day, you can leave, or you can stick around and watch the matches that are scheduled. It might be a good idea to do that since you could end up fighting any one of the entrants at any time during this competition.”
Kevin scanned the crowd again and noticed that there were women in the arena. “Oh man, I can’t believe there are women entering this competition.” He commented. Scott wasn’t surprised though. “Hey, there are some pretty tough women out there.” He said. “Yeah, but this is street fighting.” Kevin reminded his friend. Scott shrugged. He saw nothing wrong with a woman who knew how to fight.
“You are all free to go now. I expect you back here at eight a.m. sharp. We will announce the twenty qualifying individuals upon your arrival tomorrow.” Derek said.
Kevin and Scott stood up and left the arena. They spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out in Los Angeles. They had dinner before returning to their hotel. “So, you’re ready for this?” Scott asked. “Of course…I train every day and I’m in great shape.” Kevin assured him. “Okay, because I don’t wanna see you get hurt, big guy.” Scott replied.
The following morning, Kevin and Scott left to go back to the coliseum. Once there, they took a seat and waited.
“Good morning everyone…okay, we have the names of the twenty qualifying individuals. Listen carefully for your name. If it is called, please make your way down to the field and come to me.” Derek said.
Derek looked over at Ron Logan and smiled. “I wonder if father and daughter realize that they are both here together.” He commented. “Well, if they don’t, they’re about to find out.” Logan replied.
“Ryan Goldstein, Jake Burrow, Micahel Anton, James Sweeney, Kevin Nash, Richard Masters, Andre Lumbardo, Missy Allen, Joshua Canon, Lisa Hunt, Amy Corrigan, Daniel Parker, Brad Morgan, Alex Cahill, Erin Moore, Eric Welsh, Lacy Evans, Robert Peters, Jeffrey O’Neil, and Elizabeth Nash.
Kevin had been on his way down to the field when he heard the last name that Derek Stratton called. Scott was still in his seat and he’d heard it too. “Oh boy…Kev’s gonna be pissed.” He thought. But Scott wasn’t surprised that his niece had entered this competition or that she’d been invited. Kevin had taught her everything he knew, so she was a good solid fighter.
Kevin finally made it to the field. He was the tallest man there and at the moment, his face was a mask of rage as he approached Derek. “Why’d you invite my daughter out here?” Kevin shouted. He pointed a finger in Derek’s face and the smaller man backed away. “Look Mr. Nash, your daughter is a very talented fighter. She belongs in this competition.” Derek explained. “How do you know what kind of fighter she is?” Kevin demanded.
Liz had just come on to the field and groaned when she saw her father going off. “Great, this is going to be fun.’ She muttered. She’d heard his name called and knew that there would be trouble. She hadn’t told him about the competition because she knew he’d be upset if she tried to enter. Now he was here and he’d entered the competition too.
“Dad, stop.” Liz cried as she got closer to him. Kevin whirled around and glared at his daughter. “Go home. You’re not fighting.” He said. “I am so. I’m just as capable as you are. I’m an adult, remember? You can’t tell me what to do anymore.” Liz snapped. Kevin was livid and threatened to hurt Derek, but Liz stood her ground. “I’m fighting and there’s nothing you can do about it.” She remarked. “Fine, you’re staying at my hotel. If you insist on entering this thing, I’m going to make sure you’re prepared.” Kevin said. “Sean is here with me.” Liz protested. “Then bring him to the Hilton and book a room.” Kevin insisted. Liz decided not to argue with him about this. At least he’d stopped complaining about her being involved in the competition.
“Fine, now that we’ve got that settled, we’ll start the matches today. In about twenty minutes, you’ll see the names of the individuals who will be competing today. I suggest you stick around and watch even if you’re not competing.” Derek said. “You can go back to your seats now, but be sure to watch for your name and a time.” He reminded them. “Where are you sitting?” Kevin asked. “I’ll show you.” Liz said.
Sean had seen Liz and Kevin arguing and was relieved that they’d stopped. Ten minutes later, Liz came back to her seat with Kevin. “Let’s go sit with Scott.” Kevin suggested. “Uncle Scott is here?” Liz asked. “Yeah, he came to watch me.” Kevin replied. “Oh great, I’ll bet he’s going to start with me too.” Liz muttered. She and Sean followed Kevin back to where he’d been sitting. “Hey kiddo, so you got an invitation too, huh?” Scott asked when Liz sat down. “Do not lecture me about this.” She pleaded. “I won’t. I’m sure your Dad already did that anyway.” Scott replied. Kevin scowled for a moment before turning his attention to the field below him.
Twenty minutes later, Kevin looked at the screen and saw his daughter’s name. “You’re competing today.” He told her. “Great, I can’t wait.” Liz remarked. She frowned when she saw that she was last. “You’re competing against a guy, so you’d better be careful.” Kevin warned her. “Dad, I learned from the best remember?” She asked him. He nodded and smiled at her.
Liz and her father watched the matches carefully to see what their future competitors were like. “Man, this is brutal.” Scott remarked. “It’s street-fighting. It’s always brutal.” Kevin retorted.
Alex cursed out loud. Her name hadn't been called and she decided to have a little talk with Derek about it. "What the hell are you doing, Derek? You know I am very well qualified for this and you know I need the d**n money! Don't screw me over!" Derek laughed at her angry face. "Cool it Baby! You'll get your chance!" "What do you mean, I’ll get my chance? I want in this competition, d**n it!" Alex raised her hand and was ready to smack him, but he caught her arm in mid air and with a threatening look in his eyes, he warned her quietly.
"Don't ever try this again! You know better than that! And you are not the one to make the demands here, I am! But I want to be fair......Let me tell you what I'm gonna do. We'll have a little fight here in the arena right now. If you can beat my boy Jake, you are in, ok?" Alex gasped for air. Jake Burrow was Derek's pet and hadn't been beaten before. He was much bigger than Alex and was not afraid to beat a woman to death. Alex stuck her hand out and looked straight into Derek's eyes. "You’ve got a deal! But don’t screw me over! I want my rightful place in this competition. You know that I know way too much about you and your illegal fights for you to screw with me." Derek's face was a mask of rage now. "Is that a threat?" Alex didn't back down. "No Derek. This is a promise!" She turned and walked away.
Everyone was still sitting, staring at the screen waiting for the match-ups when Derek grabbed the microphone again and asked for everyone's attention. "I have a special announcement. I just found out, that we will have a special competition this morning. The challenger will be added to the qualifying list of competitors. So if I could have everyone turn your attention to the center now. This will be a special preview of what's about to happen to some of you, so watch and learn! Introducing first, the challenger from Dallas, Texas weighing 125 pounds standing 5 feet 8 inches........Alex, the Amazon, Cahill!!!!!!!! And her opponent, undefeated champion for 3 years straight, from Detroit, Michigan.....weighing 290 pounds and standing 6 feet and 8 inches tall...... Jake, the Destroyer, Burrow!!!!!!! Enjoy the fight Ladies and Gentlemen!"
Alex stood in front of the huge man and her eyes showed compassion and fire. She was not going to let Jake intimidate her. A murmur went through the crowd at the sight of the two completely opposite fighters. Jake gave Alex a cynical look and threw the first punch. Alex had seen it coming and ducked. Before Jake could recover from his surprise, she squatted in front of him and threw her leg high up, kicking him hard to the side of his head. Alex had studied mixed Martial Arts and was quite flexible and fast. She knew that these abilities would be the only chance she had to beat this mountain of a man with no scruples. Jake recovered quick and kicked her legs out from underneath her. She landed hard on her back and had to fight for air.
Jake kicked her ribs and before Alex could move out of the way, he landed a hard right to her right eyes. She jumped up and was blinded by the blood running down her forehead. Alex jumped to the side and danced around the now smiling man. She quickly wiped the blood away and went for the next attack. The fight went back and forth and Alex bled in several places now. But she refused to give up. She needed this competition to make money. After 20 minutes, she finally got a break. Jake was starting to get tired and with three quick spinning back kicks to his head, Alex finally managed to achieve the count out. She didn't raise her arms in victory though. All she wanted was Derek's confirmation that she was in and then to clean up.
"You got lucky there, sweetheart. But I admire your dedication and you know I'm a man of my word. You are in!" Alex just turned and walked out of the arena.
Liz watched one match after the other until it was her time to go down. “Don’t get hurt.” Kevin called to her. “Dad, stop it.” Liz groaned as she walked away. Scott and Sean were smiling, but Kevin wasn’t. He was worried. He’d seen some of the people who fought and they’d gotten hurt. This was going to be a very tough competition.
Liz walked out onto the field and came face to face with Joshua Canon. The man was fairly big, but Liz was no shrimp. Her father was seven feet tall and she had taken after him a bit. She wasn’t quite as tall, but she was built for a woman and her father had taught her everything she knew. When Derek backed away from her, Liz made the mistake of looking at him instead of at Joshua. He took advantage of her distraction and threw the first punching, hitting her squarely in the jaw.
“d**nit, pay attention.” Kevin muttered under his breath. “She was checking that guy out.” Sean commented. “Sean, my daughter was not checking that guy out.” Kevin said. Scott laughed when he heard Sean. “Relax, kid. She won’t cheat on you. She’s here to fight.” Scott assured his friend. Sean wasn’t convinced. He’d seen Liz looking at Derek when she was supposed to be paying attention to her opponent.
Liz reeled from the punch, but she retaliated a moment later, using kickboxing moves to knock Joshua to the ground. “I taught her that.” Kevin said, proudly and Scott laughed again. Liz jumped back as Joshua flipped and landed on his feet. He put his leg up and kicked her in the stomach, sending her flying backwards. She rolled to her side and got up quickly, but she’d had the wind knocked out of her and was trying to get air into her lungs. Joshua grabbed her and threw her over his shoulders and she landed with a loud thud in the grass. Kevin stood up, but Scott stopped him. “You can’t go down there. You’ll both be disqualified.” Scott warned him, so he sat back down.
Liz finally got her wind back, so she jumped up and approached Joshua. She brought her knee up nailing him hard in his groin. Then she brought her leg up and kicked him in the stomach, but he didn’t fall. She kicked him again, but he still didn’t fall. Finally, after kicking him a third time, he hit the dirt. She got down on her knees and punched him repeatedly in the face until he threw her off of him. Recovering quickly, Liz was ready when Joshua threw another punch at her. She grabbed his arm, twisted it behind his back and kicked him hard in the back, sending him face first down into the dirt. When Joshua stood this time, she could tell he was dazed. She gave him one final kick to his stomach and sent him flying. This time, Joshua didn’t get up.
Liz wiped her mouth and grimaced at the sight of the blood. After she was announced the winner, she started to leave the field. “Hey.” She heard Derek calling to her, so she turned around. “Nice work. Maybe we can get together since we’re done for the day.” Derek said. Liz sneered at him. “I don’t think so. My boyfriend is here and I doubt he’d like that much.” She said. She left before Derek had a chance to say anything else. When she got back to her where her father, Sean, and her Uncle were sitting, Kevin immediately stood up to look her over. “Dad, stop it. I’m fine.” Liz groaned. “You’re bleeding.” Scott pointed out. “I’m okay. It’s not bad.” Liz argued. “Well, you were the last one, so we can leave now.” Kevin said. “What did that guy say to you?” Sean asked. “Nothing.” Liz said. “Had to be something.” Scott remarked. “He wanted to get together, but I told him no.” Liz said. Sean was mad and turned to go and confront Derek, but Kevin stopped him. “Relax, Liz can handle herself. She told him no, so leave it alone.” Kevin warned him. Reluctantly, Sean followed them out of the arena and back to the hotel.
Alex had watched the last fight. She was quite impressed with this girl's fighting style. She had some quick and precise moves. She watched her leave and noticed who she was here with. She remembered Kevin Nash and his best friend Scott Hall. They had been her idols when she was younger. He didn't know Kevin Nash had a daughter, but it was more than obvious, she looked a lot like him. Alex felt the cut above her eye burning and bleeding again. Her ribs were killing her and she just felt like crap. She decided to make her way back to the hotel as well. She slowly walked back when she heard a familiar voice.
"Alex, isn't that a surprise! What are you doing here?" Alex turned around and gave the man a dirty look. "None of your business, cop!" She kept walking, but the man was not about to give up. He knew what business Alex was in, he had arrested her often enough. He jumped out of the car and grabbed her arm rather rough. " You better let me go! You ain't got no jurisdiction here!" "What happened to your face? You are bleeding!" Cordell Walker had been a Ranger long enough to know that this wasn't a wound from falling. "I bumped heads with a goat, ok?" Alex turned and tried to free her arm. Walker didn't let go of her. He had somewhat grown fond of this girl, even though she was nothing but a girl involved in a bunch of illegal street fighting competitions.
"I'll take you to the hospital, you'll need stitches! Get in!" He opened the door to his truck, but Alex wasn't about to sit in the same truck with him. She hated him. He had booked her so many times, especially when she needed money the most. He had made her life a living hell ever since their ways had crossed years ago when she had still been a teenager.
Walker wasn't going to let her get away. He was sure that there was a street fighting tournament going on somewhere and he was determined to find out where. He had a feeling that Derek Stratton was organizing it and he had been wanting to take him down for a long time now. He grabbed Alex and started carrying her to the truck. Even though Alex was sore and tired, she fought him with everything she had. Walker wasn't going to take it easy on her, she knew that. But if she wanted to get rid of him, she didn't have another choice but to fight him. Alex landed a few strong kicks and punches, but in the end, Walker knocked her out cold and finally grabbed her and threw her in his truck. "Girl, you should know better than that! Now I'll take you to the hotel and then you will tell me all about your reasons for being here in LA!" He drove off.

He parked the truck in the front of the hotel and threw Alex over his shoulder. He started marching inside while Alex kicked and screamed. "Put me down you sorry....." He did as he was asked and Alex fell to the ground. "Now, we'll go to your room and you can talk to me!" Kevin, Scott, Liz and Sean heard the commotion and looked toward the entrance. "Isn't that the girl who had to fight the champion to get into the competition?" Liz asked Kevin and Kevin nodded. Scott didn't like the way this guy was handling her and started walking toward the man to step in Liz saw her Uncle going over, so she went to follow him. Kevin grabbed her arm and held her back. “Uncle Scott, don’t.” Liz called, but he ignored her. “Hey you, what the hell do you think you’re doing? Get your hands off of her right now.” Scott shouted. Walker looked up at the man who’d approached him. “This is police business.” He said. “Oh yeah, then why are you taking her into a hotel?” Scott demanded. “Police business means none of your business.” Walker retorted. “Let her go right now, punk.” Scott said. Walker let go of Alex and put his fists up. Scott laughed until Walker punched him in the face. In the fashion of an old time street fighter, Scott attacked Walker, but Walker was faster. Liz was getting frustrated. She pulled out of her father’s grasp and went towards her Uncle. “Baby, get back here.” Kevin called, but Liz ignored him. She jumped at Walker in her Uncle’s defense and kicked him in the face, knocking him to the ground. That was all the incentive Scott needed. He started punching Walker in the ribs and in the face until he stopped moving. Then he picked Alex up and led her inside. Liz followed him. Sean and Kevin were right behind him. “Don’t you dare interfere like that again.” Kevin warned her. “Dad, I’m capable of handling things.” Liz remarked. Scott stopped walking and turned around. “Don’t ever interfere like that again.” He said. Liz threw her hands up and stormed to the elevators. “My room.” Kevin said when he got on the elevator. “Dad, I’m going to my room.” Liz argued. “I wanna check you out first, so you’re going to my room.” Kevin insisted. Liz rolled her eyes and got off the elevator on her father’s floor. She followed him to his room and waited for him to open the door. Sean was right behind her and followed her in. Scott laid Alex on the couch and sat next to her. Alex started coming to and sat straight up when she saw Scott Hall sitting beside her. “Relax, you’re safe now. What was that cop bothering with you for anyway?” Scott asked. Liz sat in a chair trying to get her father out of her face. “Stop it.” She cried. “Hold still while I clean the blood off.” He ordered. She groaned and pleaded with her Uncle to do something. “Kev, leave it alone.” Scott said. “You should know me better than that.” Kevin retorted. “Sorry kiddo, I tried.” Scott said. Liz groaned loudly. “Sean, help?” She asked. “Hey, I ain’t getting in Big Kev’s way. He’s your father and he can do whatever he wants.” Sean said. “Suck-up.” Liz muttered. Scott laughed when he heard her. “Sorry, I think I’m intruding. I’ll just go.” Alex said. “By all means, stay. We’re always like this, so you’ll have to excuse us. “Liz is Kevin’s daughter and she’s dating our friend Sean because he’s a few years younger than us, so we’re just one big happy family.” Scott explained. “Now, about that cop…” Scott said, wanting an explanation. "We've had a few run-ins over the years and he just keeps harassing me. Nothing I can’t handle though, I'm used to it." Scott didn't really believe her. "Well, it didn't look like you had him under control. Why is he after you?" Everyone in the room now looked at Alex, expecting an answer. "Well...It doesn't really matter. Thanks for sticking up for me..." Scott didn't let her get up though. "Who is this cop and why is he bothering you?" Alex sighed. She knew he wouldn't let her go until he had his answer. "I'm a professional street fighter. That's how I make my living. I know it's illegal, but it's the only thing I ....well anyway. His name is Cordell Walker and he is a Texas Ranger. He arrested me so many times, hell I lost count. That's all, so don't worry about it. Just make sure he doesn't get you guys. He is a major pain in the ass!" Scott grinned at her way to express herself. She was a wild one and Scott liked that in a woman. Kevin grinned as well and finally finished cleaning Liz's face. "You might as well stay, I'm sure he's still out there, waiting on you to come out." Liz smiled and extended her hand to Alex. Alex smiled back at her even though her face was hurting more than ever. She cursed in her mind, Walker had done quite a bit of damage to her and she vowed to get him back for that. "I'm Alex. It's nice to meet all of you. I've seen you guys on TV and used to admire you when I was younger." Kevin grinned again. "Used to? What about now?" Alex started laughing but it turned into a moan of pain. "Are you ok?" Scott looked worried. "I'm ok. This d**n cop got me good and I need to get me some painkillers now. Kevin, I only said used to, because I'm a bit older now and have to fight to survive. I don't have time for TV or admiring someone anymore. Reality isn't what you see on TV. And unfortunately life is reality and it’s not on TV." Alex had a deep pain in her eyes and felt tears coming to her eyes. She quickly turned away. Her pride would never allow her to cry, especially not in front of a man. Alex told them she would leave, but Kevin and Scott insisted she'd stay. While Liz and Sean watched TV, Kevin and Scott cleaned Alex's face and Kevin suggested to take her to the hospital for the cut above her eye. "Nah, it's nothing. It'll stop bleeding soon." Scott wasn't convinced, but unless they would knock her out and carry her, she wouldn't go and he realized that. "I really need to get to my room now. Thanks for everything. Liz, I have to say you are a great fighter! I was impressed. You will be a worthy opponent!" Liz smiled at the compliment and turned her attention back to Sean. "You sure you'll be ok? You could stay..." Alex assured them she would be fine and after thanking them again, she left. She entered her room and turned on the light. She needed pain killers but right now she barely had enough to pay for the room. Alex laid on her bed and just starred at the ceiling. "Here, these should help!" Alex jumped up when she heard Walker's voice. "What the hell are you doing in my room? Get out!" Walker just grinned. "Nice friends you got there. Do they know that you are just a crook?" Alex sighed and just shook her head. She realized that Walker would stick to her like flies to nuts. She laid back down and closed her eyes. "You'll pay for half the room if you stay. Now turn the light off, I need some sleep!" "We aren't done! You haven't answered my question why you are here in LA!" "None of your business, I told you that! You don't have jurisdiction here, so leave me alone! I haven't done anything wrong, so screw off!" Walker wasn't satisfied with that answer, but he knew that she wouldn't crack. She was a pro and he needed to take more drastic measures to make her cooperate. "You know I have a warrant for your arrest!" Alex sat up and starred at him. "What the hell for? I haven't done anything!" Walker smiled. He knew he had gotten her attention now. "DA in Dallas has issued a warrant for your arrest in the assault of 2 men in an illegal street fight. You beat them up pretty bad, Alex. That can put you away for quite some time..." Walker didn't enjoy this at all, but he couldn't drop his act now. In order to get to Stratton, he needed her help. He noticed in how much pain she was and wanted nothing more than take her into his arms and make her feel better. "What do you want from me Walker? If you have a warrant, arrest me already." "How do you feel about working out a deal? You help me and I keep you out of prison in return. What do you say?" Making a deal with a cop? ? Alex thought she didn't hear right. "If I go for this, what would I have to do?" She was careful. She didn't trust this cowboy and wasn't going to play games with him. "All I want from you, is Stratton! You deliver me the proof that he is running illegal street fight tournaments, testify in court and you can probably get off with probation." "Stratton? Are you nuts? ? There is no way in hell I can do that and you know that! I'd have to take him on and with his men around him all the time....hell, I'd be dead before I can say the word cop! Forget it, Walker!" Alex paced the room now. "You don't have to take him on. All I want you to do is keep your mouth shut about who I am. I'll pose as a fighter and that way I can get close enough and take him down. So....Keep your mouth shut in return for probation. Doesn't sound too bad, does it? I'll come back tomorrow and I want an answer then. And don't even think about warning Stratton or skipping town, you know I'll find you no matter where you go!" Alex knew he was right and after he had left she sighed. Scott had gotten some ice and returned back to the room when he saw Walker leaving Alex's room. Liz looked up when she saw her Uncle holding the ice. “What am I a baby now? I’m going to my room.” Liz snapped. “Sit down right now.” Scott ordered. She looked up at him and laughed, but he held the ice out and waited for her to take it. Reluctantly, she snatched the ice from him and put it on her face. “I just saw that cop coming out of Alex’s room.” Scott commented. “Yeah? Maybe you oughta go down there and make sure she’s okay.” Kevin suggested. “Maybe I should.” Liz commented. “You stay right where you are.” Kevin replied. “Dad, I’m tired. I want to go back to my room now.” Liz argued, but Kevin refused to let her leave just yet. Scott excused himself and went to check on Alex. Liz found herself resenting Alex now. She didn’t want her Uncle getting involved with someone she was competing against, and she certainly didn’t want her father to find this woman interesting either, although he’d already shown a little interest. Liz sighed as she thought of what could happen if her father or her uncle started dating Alex. “What’s wrong?” Sean asked, noticing the frown on her face. “Nothing.” Liz muttered. Kevin noticed his daughter’s mood change too. He wondered if it had something to do with Alex. Scott knocked on Alex’s door and waited for to answer it. “Walker, I swear if that’s you…” She growled as she opened the door. “It’s just me. I wanted to make sure you were okay. I saw that cop leaving your room.” Scott explained. “Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks for checking up on me.” Alex replied. She invited Scott in, so he entered the room and sat down on the small couch. “So, you used to watch us on TV?” Scott asked. Alex nodded. She didn’t want to say that she’d favored Kevin more, so she changed the subject to the competition. “Your niece is really good.” Alex said. “Her father trained her.” Scott admitted. “Well, I’m not surprised. He’s just as good, if not better and I know that, even though I haven’t seen him fight.” Alex remarked. Scott wondered if Alex was interested in Kevin. He decided not to say anything because he didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. “You’re pretty talented yourself. I saw you fight today.” Scott said. Alex smiled. “I’ve trained all my life. I really hope that your niece and I don’t have to fight.” Alex replied. “Well, if you do, Liz keeps it strictly professional, so you won’t have to worry about that.” Scott assured her. “You’re sure you’ll be okay tonight?” Scott asked. “Sure, I’ll be fine.” Alex promised. “I’m right down the hall if you need anything. Kevin and I are sharing a room, so we’re both available if you need us.” He said. Alex smiled at his choice of words. Scott had realized what he’d said and felt foolish. He said goodnight and left the room. “Dad, I’m going to my room now. I need to get sleep in case I have to fight tomorrow.” Liz said. “Fine, go on, but no funny business tonight. My daughter has to be prepared for this competition.” Kevin said to Sean. Sean assured him that there would be none, but Liz pulled him out of the room and told her father to mind his business. “You are my business.” Kevin called to her as she walked down the hall to her room. Scott had been coming in and laughed. “What was that all about?” He asked. “I told Sean to lay off for tonight.” Kevin said. “Oh, so you’re running her love life now?” Scott asked. Kevin smirked at his friend as he shut the door. “I run her life completely. She’ll always be my little girl and she’ll always take my good fatherly advice.” Kevin retorted. "Time for an answer now sweetheart!" Alex had a hard time opening her eyes. She was in more pain than the night before and knowing that Walker now sat right next to her didn't help either. "What time is it?" She finally managed to open her eyes far enough to look at Walker. "6 and you need to give me an answer and then get ready for today!" Alex knew that she didn't have a choice but to cooperate with him. If she didn't he'd take her to prison faster than she could say his name. "Ok Walker! I tell you what! I want your word, that I'll get off with probation if I help you. AND......." Walker was amazed now. Who did she think she was? She wasn't in any position to make demands. "I want Kevin Nash, his daughter Liz and her boyfriend Sean and Scott Hall left out of this." Walker wondered why she would say that. She never cared about anyone but herself and she had just met these people last night. "Alright! So, now we'll go and train before we go back to the Coliseum." "Wait just a minute here Walker. I am NOT training with you! No way in hell! Also, I have a question for you. How do you plan on getting in? The competition has already started." Walker grinned. "That, sweetheart, you don't have to wreck your pretty little brain over. You just concentrate on fighting and keeping your mouth shut." She looked so cute even though the bruises on her face and the deep cut above her eye were really visible now. Walker leaned over, pulled her into his arms and kissed her. Alex was surprised by his sudden move and when she finally regained her thoughts she fought him off. "WHAT THE HELL YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? Get the hell out of here, Walker! GET OUT!!!!" Alex had jumped up and opened the door. Kevin had heard the yelling and opened his door. He saw Walker coming out of Alex's room, smiling from ear to ear. He hurried and put his pants on and ran down the hall. He heard a soft crying from inside and lightly knocked at the door. "Alex, it's Kevin! Are you ok?" Alex quickly wiped the tears off her face and opened the door. "Yeah, I'm fine." Kevin wasn't convinced. He knew what he had heard and asked if he could come in. Alex reluctantly moved over so he could walk inside. "What was he doing here?" Kevin's tone of voice made Alex realize that he wouldn't leave until he had an honest answer. She sat back down on her bed and sighed. "Kevin, I have to ask you for a huge favor. I need all of you guys to forget that Walker is a cop. You can't tell anyone, ok?" Her eyes were begging for Kevin's understanding. "What did he do to you?" "Nothing! He just had a talk with me, that's all." Alex lied and hoped he would buy it. Kevin didn't. He had enough experience with people to know she was trying to hide something even though he wasn't sure what it was. "Please promise me that you won't tell anyone who he is....please? ??" Kevin gave in and promised even though he wasn't sure why she'd ask a favor like this. Was that Ranger threatening her, was he hurting her? Kevin couldn't make sense out of it. He would find out soon, why she wanted to keep Walker's occupation a secret. But there were still many questions unanswered and he was determined to find the real Alex Cahill behind the wall of hate, acting tough and obvious pain. He went back to the room and after a quick bite to eat, Kevin, Scott, Liz and Sean made their way to the Coliseum. Kevin decided not to mention his talk with Alex to his daughter or his friends. He just told them that he saw Alex in the hallway and she had asked him to not let anyone know that Walker was a cop. Liz, Sean and Scott wondered about this, but decided to respect Kevin's wish. Kevin wasn't going to fight today either, neither was Liz. They still watched the other matches. A new contender was introduced, according to Derek because of an unexpected disqualification of another fighter. Alex was the first to fight and she would fight this new contender. Kevin's heart almost stopped when he recognized Walker. Alex and him stood face to face and the fight started. "She doesn't stand a chance! He is too fast and she is hurt!" Liz looked shocked. "Isn't there anything we can do?" Scott had gotten up. "No! We can't take the chance of Liz or me getting disqualified. She'll be ok." Kevin wasn't sure though. "You better not try to win this one!" "You know I need the money!" Alex argued with Walker while he had her in a choke hold. "When you are in prison you don't!" "COPS!" The word stopped everything and everyone ran out of the Coliseum. Alex knew that this was her chance. She had to convince Stratton to save Walker for later and let her compete against others first. "Derek, we need to talk!" Alex had dialed the familiar number and he agreed to a meeting at an old warehouse downtown.

Liz was upset that she hadn’t had a chance to fight yet. “Relax, you’ll get another chance. You won the first round.” Kevin said when he saw the disappointed look on her face. “I wanted to compete today.” Liz grumbled. “I didn’t even get a chance to compete yet.” Kevin reminded her. They left the Coliseum and went out to lunch. “While they were out, Liz got a phone call. “Hey, I was wondering if you’d be interested in a bit of extra training.” She heard Derek’s voice and grimaced. “I train with my father.” She commented. “I’m talking about more than just training. I’m talking about you and me, one on one.” Derek remarked. Liz couldn’t deny that she was interested. She hadn’t had the chance to compete yet. “When and where?” She asked. “Meet me in two hours at the Coliseum. And come alone.” Derek said. Then he hung up.
“Who was that?” Sean asked when she turned her phone off. Liz frowned. “It was just one of the competitors. They asked if I was interested in training today. It’s no big deal.” She assured Sean. She decided not to mention that it was in fact Derek who’d called her. “You can train with me.” Kevin offered. “Well, I’d like to do this. It’ll give me a chance to find out what she’s like” Liz said, lying even further about the gender of the person who’d called her. The less Sean knew, the better. To her, it was just a simple fight, but she had no idea that Derek was after much more than that.
“What’s up, Alex?” Derek asked as he entered the warehouse. “Listen to me, you have to let me compete against the others before I go up against Walker.” Alex said. “Why?” Derek asked. “Because, he’s harassing me…he wants me. He tried to kiss me today. I want to avoid him as much as possible.” Alex explained. It was the only excuse she could think of. Derek mulled it over and finally agreed to grant her wish. “What do I get out of this?” Derek asked. Alex shrugged. “What do you want?” She asked. Derek smiled as he thought of Liz. “You’re friends with that girl Liz, right?” He asked. “I wouldn’t say we’re friends, but I did talk to her.” Alex admitted. “Well, I want her. She’s meeting me in two hours, but you keep your mouth shut about that. And keep that boyfriend of hers busy or I’ll put you in with Walker.” Derek said. “I can’t do that.” Alex cried. Derek paced the floor. “Fine, I guess that is a bit much. I mean, I can get this girl on my own anyway. Forget it, it’s done. You owe me nothing, but no more favors.” Derek said. Alex thanked him and slipped out of the building unnoticed. Derek followed ten minutes later.
Liz stood up and kissed Sean. “I have to go. I’ll see you later.” She said. “Why can’t I come?” Sean asked. “Sean, I’m training. If you’re there, I’ll just be distracted. Just hang out with my Dad. I promise I’ll be back later.” Liz said. Sean stared after her until she was gone. “I hope this isn’t about that loser, Derek.” Sean muttered. “Relax Kid, she said it was a woman.” Scott assured him, but Sean wasn’t convinced. Why would Liz suddenly want to train with one of her opponents? It didn’t make sense to him.
Liz entered the coliseum and spotted Derek on the field. “Great, you made it. Are you alone?” He asked. “Yes I am, but why does that matter?” Liz asked. Derek shrugged though and urged her to come forward. “I’ll teach you a few things if you’re nice to me.” He said. Liz smirked at him as she got ready to fight him. Liz started off by sweeping Derek off of his feet, but Derek got right back up and kicked her in the side of her head. Liz landed with a thud and felt her head throbbing. This man had a powerful kick. She got up again and beckoned him to her. He tried to punch her, but Liz ducked and kicked him in the stomach. Derek stumbled backwards, but he retaliated with another kick to the head. Again, Liz hit the dirt. This time, she didn’t get right back up. “I thought we were training.” She said. “We are, sweetheart. If you can’t handle me, then you don’t belong in this competition. I’m the best.” Derek remarked.
Liz got up again and tried to hit Derek, but he blocked it. He punched her, this time hitting her in the jaw. Liz tasted blood, but she ignored it and punched him in the stomach. Then she kicked him in the groin. Derek didn’t flinch. He grabbed her arm and twisted it until he heard it snap. Liz screamed. “Oh my, I think you’re arm is broken.” Derek said. Derek flipped her over and slammed her down on her back. Then he knelt over her. “Sorry, I didn’t want to have to hurt you, but you play rough. You’re good, but not better than me.” He said. Then he kissed her forcefully. Liz tried to fight him off, but he wouldn’t budge.
“You can go now.” Derek said, pulling her up a moment. “Oh and I’d have that arm looked at. You might need a cast. And one other thing, don’t tell anyone you were here with me or I’ll throw you out of this competition. The competition will last for three weeks instead of two because we got off to a rough start, so that’ll give you enough time to heal that arm before you have to compete again.” Derek told her. “You son of a…” Liz started, but she backed off. “Don’t whine. You know you liked it and there’s more where that came from.” Derek said. Liz hobbled off the field and left the Coliseum. “Great, my Dad is going to kill me, if he can get to me before Uncle Scott…” Liz muttered. And she had no idea what she was going to tell Sean. When he found out about her broken arm, he was going to question who she’d really been with.
Liz hailed a cab back to the hotel and ran into Alex. “What happened to you?” Alex cried. “Long story. You haven’t by any chance seen my father, have you?” Liz asked. “I’m afraid so. He just went up to his room.” Alex said. “Great, he’s going to kill me.” Liz muttered as she walked into the hotel. “I’ll come with you. Maybe it won’t be so bad if I’m there.” Alex offered. Liz forced a smile as she got onto the elevator. Somehow she doubted that Alex’s presence would stop her Dad from pregnant doging about her arm. This was going to be a long night. Liz just prayed her arm was only fractured instead of broken. If it was a fracture, it would heal in a week instead of two. But, if it were a bad break, she’d be out of the competition altogether.
Alex and Liz walked to Kevin’s room. Alex opened the door and Liz led her inside. “What the hell happened to you?” Kevin shouted. Sean stood up and rushed to Liz’s side. But Scott was the one to rear his ugly head. “What the hell happened? You’d better tell me who did this to you right now.” He yelled. Liz flinched at all the angry faces. She looked to Alex for help, but Alex didn’t know what to say.
Alex knew that it had been Derek. That son of a pregnant dog didn't stop at nothing to get his way. "Do you know anything about this?" Scott looked at Alex, but she shook her head. "She ran into me downstairs and I thought she could use the help to get up here." Alex hated lying to him, but she didn't have a choice. She was now forced by two men to do whatever they told her to, or she could easily end up dead. But she couldn't bare the thought of Derek putting his filthy hands on Liz. That was too much and she would find a way to stop him. She watched as Kevin checked his daughter for any other injuries. The worried look in his eyes almost killed her. "We'll take you to the hospital and get that taken care of!" Liz frowned but agreed. Scott and Sean followed them downstairs and Alex went into her room.
"Not too bad! I was quite impressed, but you know I would have beat you!" "In your dreams! What do you want Walker?" Alex was too tired to put up with his bull. She disappeared in the bathroom, trying to clean herself up. The cut above her eyes started bleeding again when she rubbed the towel over it a little too hard. She cursed under hear breath. "d**n it! Not again!" Walker had heard her and came in. "You know you need stitches, right?" "Get out of here, Walker. I can take care of myself." Walker hated playing this role, but he didn't have a choice. He grabbed her and pulled her out of the bathroom. "Put a jacket on, I'll take you to the hospital!" Alex was too tired to argue, so she did as he told her.
Kevin and Scott spotted Walker right away and wondered what he could be doing here. Alex walked in right behind him and looked around to see if Kevin, Scott and Sean were around. Before Alex had a chance to say anything to Kevin, Walker had pulled her to the counter and explained to the nurse that Alex needed medical attention right away. A nurse led Alex into an examination room and Walker sat down on a chair right in front of the room.
"What are you doing here with Alex?" Kevin's tone of voice clearly expressed his anger. "She needed stitches and I took her to get them." Walker wasn't impressed by Kevin's size but wondered why he acted so protective. "What's it to you and why are you here anyway?" "I worry about Alex and even though it's none of your business, my daughter got hurt!" "What happened?" "I don't know. She said she was training with another competitor and when she came back, she looked like that." Walker had an idea what had happened and who had done this. But he couldn't afford to blow his cover and let Kevin know the truth about Stratton.....Not yet!
When the Doctor came out, Kevin rushed back to his friends. "She got lucky. Her arm isn't broken, just a small hairline fracture. If she keeps it quiet, she should be ok within a week. We put a cast on, but only so she won't cause anymore damage." "Thanks Doc! Where is she?" Right when Kevin asked, Liz walked out with a frown. Sean was the first by her side and put his arm around her. "The Doctor said you'll only be out for about a week. Let's go back to the hotel, ok?" Walker watched the group leave. He decided to make a phone call to his partner back in Dallas. He would need back up on this one. He asked the nurse to use the phone and didn't notice Alex slipping out behind his back.
Alex had a bandage on her head and the wound was throbbing badly. But she ignored the pain. She was going after Stratton and make him pay for what he had done to Liz. Alex didn't care anymore if she won the tournament or ended up dead. The pressure from Walker and Stratton was too much. She promised herself not to take it any longer. She was a strong, good fighter and not afraid of anyone.
Alex hailed down a cab in front of the hospital and told the driver to take her to the Coliseum. Walker ran out of the front door just in time to see Alex take off in a cab. He ran to his truck and went back to the hotel. "Is Alex here?" Walker busted into Kevin's room without knocking.
“No, now get out of my room.” Kevin shouted. Walker decided to take a chance. “Look, you seem like good people. I think I’d better tell you what’s going on, but this stays between us.” Walker said. Kevin waited for more. Liz looked annoyed that he was there. “This guy Stratton, the one running the competition…he’s a crook.” Walker said. “What?” Liz snapped. Kevin glared at his daughter, so she shut her mouth. “He’s been running illegal street fighting competitions for years. I’ve been sent here to take him down. I think Alex just went to confront him and I have a feeling it’s because you’re daughter was with him this afternoon.” Walker said.
Kevin and Scott turned to Liz. “Who did you meet this afternoon?” Kevin asked. Liz tried to think of the names of the other competitors, but she couldn’t remember any of them. “Who?” Scott demanded. “Okay, I met Derek. He asked me to fight him. I wanted to fight.” Liz cried. “You met that punk and let him do this to you?” Kevin asked. “Dad, I didn’t let him. He’s a good fighter. I just lost. I didn’t know he’d break my arm.” Liz argued. “Did anything else happen while you were there?” Walker asked. “No.” Liz lied. She didn’t want to hurt Sean so she kept the part about Derek kissing her to herself.
“Let’s go. We have to get to Alex now.” Kevin said. Everyone rushed to Walker’s truck and got in. He raced towards the Coliseum, hoping he could get there before Alex did something dreadful.
Alex got out of the cab and entered the coliseum. Sure enough, Derek was on the field training with Logan. “Derek.” Alex shouted. “Well, well, well, what brings you here?” He asked. “Don’t get cute with me. I know what you did to Liz.” Alex said. “Look, breaking her arm was an accident.” Derek insisted. “I don’t think so. You wanted to scare her into leaving Sean for you. It won’t work.” Alex insisted.
Walker parked in front of the Coliseum. “Look, I can’t blow my cover. I want you to go in there and get her out fast.” Walker said. Kevin and Scott told Liz to stay in the truck with Sean. “I’m going with you.” Liz insisted. Sean followed her. “You stay here.” She said. “No way, I’m not letting you face that punk without me.” Sean argued. Liz was worried because she didn’t want Sean to find out that Derek had kissed her. “Alex.” Kevin shouted when he got onto the field. “Well, looks like we’re going to have a party now.” Derek said, spotting Liz immediately.
“Did you come back for more?” He asked, smiling at her. Kevin headed towards Derek, but Scott stopped him. “You’ll be disqualified. Don’t do it.” He said. “You stay the hell away from my daughter.” Kevin shouted. “Your daughter doesn’t want that, do you Liz? I mean, we had so much fun today.” Derek said. Kevin advanced again, but Scott held him back. “Alex, let’s get out of here.” Scott said. Alex stood her ground for a minute, but she finally followed Scott. “Let’s go now.” Kevin said to his daughter. “Hang on for one second.” Liz said. She grabbed Derek’s arm and led him away from the group.
“What the hell is she doing?” Sean bellowed. Kevin wasn’t liking what he saw either. If Derek had been telling the truth then Sean and Liz would have problems. “Listen to me, don’t fight with my father.” Liz said. “Well, if you want to keep the peace, then you play it cool and you come and train with me from now on. Of course, you’ll have to wait until your arm heals.” Derek said. “No more injuries.” Liz warned him. “I give you my word. You train with me every day and I’ll make sure you don’t get hurt.” Derek promised. “Fine, but don’t ever try to kiss me again.” She whispered. “But I thought you enjoyed that.” Derek said, his voice full of sarcasm. Liz fought to keep from hitting him right there in front of her father and Sean. “And one other thing…” Liz said. “What?” Derek asked. “Leave Alex alone or the deal is off and I’ll turn you in.” Liz said. Derek was surprised by this request. “How did you know?” He asked. “I’m not as stupid as you think.” Liz retorted. “Fine, I’ll leave Alex alone. You’d just better keep your promise or there will be hell to pay.” Derek said.
Liz left him staring after her. “What was that about?” Kevin asked. “Nothing.” Liz said. “Now you know d**n well that I won’t accept that answer.” He said. “I just warned him not to mess with me again or I’d turn him in.” Liz said. Part of what she’d said was true, but she didn’t bother mentioning the rest. She’d deal with Sean later. She could tell he was angry, but there was nothing she could do about that right now. He’d have to trust her or they’d be on the road to a break-up. Since they’d been together for nearly two years already, Liz didn’t see that happening, but she couldn’t rule it out. Things were getting very ugly very fast.
Back in the truck, Walker told Alex about talking to Kevin. “You all know?” She asked. “Yeah, but we’re keeping our mouths shut.” Kevin promised. “Well, I guess you know now why Walker’s been bothering me.” Alex said. “Look, that five million dollar prize might even be fake. I don’t know where he’s getting that money from, but I’m betting it’s illegal or counterfeit.” Walker said. “So we’re doing this for nothing?” Liz cried. “No, we’re doing this to take down a lowlife crook.” Kevin reminded her. “Dad, I entered this thing to be the champion…to prove myself.” Liz remarked. “Sweetheart, you don’t have to prove yourself. I told you before you can work with me.” Kevin said. “I don’t want to wrestle. I want to fight.” Liz snapped. “Enough, let’s get out of here.” Scott remarked.
Walker drove back to the hotel and parked. Everyone got out and went inside. “Let’s have dinner in the dining room.” Kevin suggested. “Dad, look at me. I’m not sitting in there.” Liz insisted. “Stop acting like a baby and get in there.” Kevin yelled. Liz grumbled as she followed her father. This was turning out to be a major headache. She suddenly wished she and Sean were back at home spending time alone together. It felt like forever since they were alone. She was already missing the peace and quiet. But she was determined to beat the other contestants and become the Champion, even if the competition was illegal. She would still prove that she was the best.
Over the next several days, things were quiet. Each day, Kevin, Liz, Alex, Sean, Scott, and Walker would go to the coliseum and watch the competition. Kevin finally fought on the third day of the competition. Liz was excited when she saw her father winning. “He really is good.” Alex remarked. “Yeah, I’ll say and he’s big too.” Walker added. “My Dad is dedicated to working out. He does it every day, even when he’s not working.” Liz explained. “He’s good….real good.” Alex said, with emphasis. Liz glanced at her new friend and wondered what she was thinking. It almost sounded like Alex was implying that she was interested in her father. The thought put her in a bad mood again. What would happen if Alex started dating her father or even her uncle. That would be too weird, but Liz was sure that Alex must like at least one of them.
A week after Liz had been injured, she finally got her cast off. She started working out the minute she got back to the hotel. That afternoon, she told everyone she was going out alone. “Where?” Kevin asked. “Dad, I’m just going to train for a while.” Liz said. “You’d better not be meeting that punk.” Sean warned her. “I promise, I’m not doing anything but training.” Liz assured him. “You didn’t answer my question.” Sean said. Liz frowned. She didn’t want to lie to him. “Okay, I’m meeting Derek to train. I promised to meet him every day to train as long as he left Alex alone.” Liz said. “You what?” Kevin shouted. “Hey, that’s not a bad idea. Maybe she could get some information out of him.” Walker suggested. “Her broke her d**n arm.” Kevin reminded the ranger. “He promised not to injure me. We’re just training.” Liz said. “What about me?” Sean asked. “Sean, I’m not cheating. You know I love you. I wouldn’t do that.” Liz said. She gave him a hug and a kiss and left the hotel.
At the coliseum, Derek was waiting. This time, he kept it strictly professional. Afterwards, he and Liz sat down and talked for a while. “So, what will it take for you to leave the boyfriend?” Derek asked. “Not happening.” Liz said. “I can give you everything.” Derek remarked. “My Dad does that already.” Liz retorted. “Oh right, Mr. Nash, the big, bad wrestler.” Derek commented. Liz sneered at his comment. Her father was definitely big and he was most definitely bad. “Couldn’t you just give me a chance? I really am a nice guy.” Derek said. Liz shook her head. “How about dinner, just tonight…we’ll keep it professional.” Derek promised. Liz hesitated before accepting. It was only one time, but she had to keep this quiet. Sean would definitely go after Derek if he found out about this.
Alex sat in her room just starring at the walls. So much had been happening and it hadn't been good. She had won every competition so far, but eventually she knew that she had to face either Liz, Walker or Kevin. She sighed. Alex needed the money bad. This morning she had used her last money to pay for the room. Tomorrow she had to move out and then she wouldn't know where to stay. She decided to pack all of her belongings, just so she was ready to leave and decided to go for a walk to see if there was any option for her to make money.
Walker had seen her leave and decided to follow her. Kevin noticed both of them leave and wondered where they could be going. He told Scott, Liz and Sean that he'd be going to work out for a while. "I'm coming with you, Dad!" Liz got up but Kevin stopped his daughter. "No! You have been working out and training a lot and you need some rest. Just stay here. I'll be back soon." He promised and left. Liz frowned. For some reason she had the feeling that her Dad had lied to them. Sean and Scott suggested they watch some TV, so Liz reluctantly sat between the two men.
Kevin followed Walker at a safe distance, but lost sight of him in a crowd of people. "d**n it!" He looked around to see if he could find Alex anywhere. "Why are you following me?" Walker came around a corner and starred at Kevin. "Why are you following Alex?" Kevin retorted. The two men just stood and starred each other down. Alex had noticed both men and used the opportunity to disappear into an alley. She ran until she was sure that she had lost them.
Liz was getting antsy and Sean wondered why. "I'll get ready and head for the Coliseum. Maybe I can talk to Alex before she fights, if she fights today, that is." Scott looked up at his niece.
Something was bothering her, but he just couldn't figure it out. Sean told Liz that he'd accompany her and Liz knew that he was going to whether she wanted him to or not. She went to her room to change and get her bag. "Scott, I don't like this! Something is going on and I don't like it." Scott tried to calm his friend down. "Liz would never cheat on you, she loves you way too much, Kid!" But Sean wasn't convinced anymore.
The only reason Liz wanted to go to the Coliseum was to talk to Alex. She had to ask for her help in order to be able to meet Derek for dinner. She looked around and was disappointed to see that Alex wasn't there. Where could she have gone? She wasn't here and she hadn't been in her room, either. Alex roamed the streets, but everywhere she searched, she couldn't find work. She decided to go to the old warehouse on Elm Street and let her frustrations out on the walls. She was about to lose everything...well not that she had anything to start with, but she needed money to survive. She felt her stomach growling and sat down. Kevin and Walker finally noticed that they had lost Alex. "If anything happens to her, I swear I'll rip your head off! This is all your fault!" Kevin threatened Walker. Walker looked astonished at the big man and wondered if Kevin had feelings for Alex. "No, it isn't! And let me tell YOU something. If anything happens to Alex, I'LL be the one ripping your head off. And you can take that as a promise!" Walker turned and left Kevin standing in the crowd.
Now more than ever Walker realized, that he'd need help. He was just hoping that his partner got here quick. He went back to the hotel and asked the receptionist if he had any messages. She handed him a piece of paper and he was relieved to see that it was from his partner. "Is Ms Cahill back yet?" The receptionist looked and shook her head. Walker decided to go to her room and look around to see if he could find anything he could use.
Kevin arrived back at the hotel shortly after Walker had and stomped into the room. Scott looked up at him and knew his friend was mad and worried. "What's up?" Kevin sat down and looked around. "Where are Liz and Sean?" Scott told him that they had gone to the Coliseum to watch the competition. "I think Liz wanted to talk to Alex about something, too." Kevin got up and paced the room. He couldn't find answers to any of his questions. They had gotten into something bad and he worried about Alex. "Alex!" Kevin hadn't noticed he had said her name out loud. "What?" Scott looked confused. "What, what?" Kevin got more and more irritated. "You said Alex's name, Kev!"
“Sorry, I was just thinking about all the trouble she’s been having with Walker.” Kevin explained. Scott decided not to press the issue, but he was sure that Kevin had said the name Alex for another reason. “Let’s get to the coliseum. I don’t want to miss anything.” Kevin suggested.
Liz looked all over for Alex, but she couldn’t find her anywhere. She was about to give up and go to her seat when she spotted Alex making her way to another seat. “Alex.” Liz called. “Sean, I’ll be right back. I have to talk to her for a second.” Liz said. She ran towards Alex and saw that Sean wasn’t following her. “What’s up?” Alex asked. “Listen, I need to meet Derek tonight for dinner.” Liz said. “What? Why?” Alex asked. “Never mind that…I need you to do me a big favor.” Liz said. “What can I do?” Alex asked, thinking there wasn’t anything she could to keep Sean from finding out about this. “I need you to keep Sean busy.” Liz said. “How am I supposed to do that?” Alex asked. “Treat them to dinner, on me. Take them out to a bar. I don’t care. Just do something.” Liz pleaded. She handed Alex some money and was relieved when she took it. “Fine, but I hope this works.” Alex muttered.

Liz ran back to Sean and went to take a seat with him. Alex decided to join them. Kevin and Scott showed up and sat with them too. When Alex saw Walker making his way over, she groaned. Kevin ignored the ranger and paid attention the competition. When Liz saw her name on the boards, she smiled. Then she saw her father’s name. “We’re both fighting today.” Liz remarked. “Thank God we’re not fighting each other.” Kevin said. Scott laughed. “Liz would win.” He commented. “Like hell…I taught her everything she knows.” Kevin retorted. Kevin fought first against Ryan Goldstein and easily won the fight because he had a size advantage over Ryan. Liz didn’t fight until later in the competition. Alex found out that she was scheduled to fight too. There were only eleven competitors left, Walker included. He was added later, so there was some confusion about who would have to fight twice to allow him an opponent. That changed when Brad Morgan was disqualified for using an illegal weapon during a fight. He’d taken out brass knuckles and using any kind of weapon was against the rules. With only ten competitors left, Liz was schedule to take on a woman this time. Kevin was relieved to hear this. She’d be facing Lacy Evans. Liz went out onto the field and saw Derek staring at her. She nodded slightly, letting him know that dinner was still on. Then she went to face Lacy Evans. The girls proved to be equally tough, but Liz came out the winner. She helped Lacy to her feet and thanked her for a good fight. “Hey, your Dad is Kevin Nash, right?” Lacy asked. “Yeah, he’s in the stands with my Uncle and my boyfriend.” Liz replied. “Can I meet them? I’ve always wanted to meet Scott Hall.” Lacy commented. “Sure, come with me.” Liz replied. She led Lacy to the stands and introduced her to Scott. Scott was intrigued with the young woman and Liz suddenly regretted introducing Lacy to him. Her mood changed abruptly and Kevin hadn’t missed it. “What’s wrong with you? You just made it through the semi-finals. You should be proud of yourself.” He commented. Liz shrugged though. Alex finished off with the last fight of the day. She faced Andre Lumbardo, a big, burly guy who was eager to fight. He looked creepy, but Alex was sure that she could take him. After all, she was a professional. Twenty minutes into the match, she knocked Andre out and won her fight. After everyone returned to the hotel, Liz made preparations to meet Derek for dinner, while Alex invited everyone to go to a bar. “Babe, we’re going out to a bar. You’re coming, right?” Sean asked. “Yeah, you go ahead. I’ll meet up with you. I wanna relax for a little bit.” Liz said. Sean figured she was tired after competing, so he left her at the hotel. After Alex had led everyone out of the hotel, Liz left to meet Derek. She forgot to tell Alex where she was meeting Derek and silently hoped that they didn’t show up at the same place. When Liz met up with Derek, he told her that he was taking her to Friday’s, a bar/restaurant in Los Angeles. “I thought we were going somewhere else.” Liz said. “Change of plans. I like this place.” Derek commented. Liz shrugged and followed him inside. They sat down at a table in the back of the restaurant and looked over their menus. “What’s the point of this?” Liz asked. “I’m hoping to convince you to leave the loser.” Derek said. “No chance of that happening.” Liz remarked, laughing at the idea. “Really? Well, look who just walked in.” Derek said. Liz turned and saw Alex, her father, her uncle, Sean, and Lacy. “Oh my God.” She muttered. “We have to get out of here.” She said to Derek. “No chance of that happening.” Derek retorted, imitating her earlier comment. "This looks like a good place to sit." Kevin took Alex by the arm and led her through the dining room. "WHAT THE...." Before Kevin or the others noticed why Sean had screamed like that, he stormed over to the table where Derek had his arm around Liz and lunged onto the small greasy looking man. Liz screamed and begged Sean to stop, but Sean had lost control and repeatedly punched Derek. Finally Kevin and Scott reached them and pulled him off. Alex noticed, that the situation was quickly getting out of hand and tried to figure out what to do. Liz had gotten up and Scott pulled her aside. "What the hell are you doing? " Liz just cried and looked at her father who was still trying his hardest to keep Sean from lunging at Stratton. Lacy was the only one that noticed Stratton leaving, with Alex leading the way. "I have to ask you to leave! We can not accept this kind of behavior here!" The restaurant manager made it clear to the group that he didn't want anymore trouble. Kevin picked up Sean and dragged him outside, while Scott followed with Liz and Lacy. "What was that all about?" Lacy was curious now, but Liz just gave her a quick glance before she tried to calm Sean who was still kicking and screaming. "Honey! Please calm down and let me explain...." Kevin slowly let go of Sean but stayed close, just in case Sean would freak out again. "Liz, there is a lot of explaining you'll have to do! Scott, please take Lacy home and we'll meet you back at the hotel, ok?" Alex had indeed left with Stratton, but not really willingly. When everyone had been distracted and tried to calm Sean down, Stratton had grabbed Alex and forced her to leave with him. "Let me go! What do you want from me?" Stratton gave her a sarcastic smile and pulled her into his limousine. "I warned you, Alex! I warned you to keep your mouth shut about this dinner and you, what did you do? You had to run and bring the others in there, huh? How did you figure out where I was going to take her anyway?" Alex's eyes widened. "I didn't tell them anything, Derek. I swear I didn't!" Derek didn't buy it. He leaned over and softly ran his hand over her face. "I warned you often enough not to cross me! You just can't listen, can you?" His voice was soft and sounded almost caring. Alex had been around guys like Stratton long enough to know, that this was a very dangerous situation. "But....Ok Derek. I'll tell you the truth! I didn't want Liz to have you! I want you all to myself, you know?" Alex purred and smiled seductively. Stratton seemed to buy it, but then he punched her hard into the face and everything around her went black...... Kevin, Sean and Liz returned to the hotel. “I swear, if you were cheating on me…” Sean cried. “I wasn’t cheating.” Liz snapped. “What the hell were you doing then?” Kevin demanded. “Look, it’s a really long story, but basically, I agreed to go to dinner with Derek in exchange for him leaving Alex alone.” Liz said. “What’s he want with Alex?” Kevin asked. “Why do you care?” Liz countered. Kevin gave her a warning look, so Liz disregarded the question she’d just asked. “I don’t know exactly what Derek wants with Alex, but we’ve been helping each other. I asked Alex to take you all out so you wouldn’t know about the dinner. I had no idea you’d go to the same place. We weren’t even supposed to go to Friday’s to begin with.” Liz explained. “From now on, you stay the hell away from that loser.” Sean warned her. Liz nodded. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t doing it to hurt you. I just wanted to help Alex. There’s something about that guy that I don’t like.” Liz said. “I’m beginning to wonder why he’s holding this competition.” Kevin remarked. “I think I already know.” Liz mumbled. “What?” Sean asked. “Nothing, forget it. I have to go find Alex.” Liz said. “Fine, but I’m going with you.” Sean insisted. “Yeah, I think I’ll come too.” Kevin added. Liz had learned from another fighter where Alex had been hanging out, so she checked a few places, but he wasn’t there. “Let’s go to his office.” Kevin suggested. They drove to Derek’s office and walked in. A secretary asked them if they had an appointment. I’m involved in the Street Fighting Competition.” Liz explained. “Yeah, me too.” Kevin said. “Well, without an appointment, you can’t go in there.” The secretary remarked. Sean got in her face though. “We’re going in there and you’re not going to stop us.” He said. Kevin and Liz went ahead and Sean followed. When they opened the door and walked in, they saw Alex lying on a couch and Derek was on the phone. He hung up when he saw them. “Get out of my office.” He shouted. “What the hell did you do to Alex?” Kevin demanded. He went over and threatened to hit Kevin, but Sean stopped him. “You can be disqualified.” He reminded him. Derek smiled. “But I can’t.” Sean said. He punched Derek in the mouth and watched him fall to the floor. Then he attacked him. Liz tried to stop Sean, but Kevin shoved her out of the way. “Dad, he’s going to kill him.” Liz cried. Kevin shrugged. “Dad.” Liz screamed. Kevin finally grabbed Sean and pulled him away. “That’s enough, Kid.” He said. “You stay the hell away from my girlfriend.” Sean shouted. “Did your girlfriend bother to mention that we kissed and she enjoyed it?” Derek asked. “What?” Sean cried. Liz opened her mouth to explain, but she didn’t know what to say. She had lied to him about that night when she’d fought Derek and she’d forgotten all about him kissing her because it meant nothing. Alex stirred and sat up, so Kevin went over to her. “Are you okay?” He asked. “Yeah, my face hurts.” Alex said. Kevin helped her up and led her out of the office. “Let’s go, Liz.” Kevin called. Sean was glaring at Liz now because she hadn’t said anything. “You know what…” He started, but Kevin stopped him. “Don’t say anything until you hear an explanation.” Kevin warned him. Sean threw his hands up and left the office. “You and I are not finished.” Derek said. “We’re finished. I’m resigning from this competition. I’ll let my dad handle this.” Liz retorted. “No, you can’t. You aren’t resigning. You’re in and you’re fighting in the finals, so you’d better be ready.” Derek shouted. “Let’s go.” Sean yelled. “I’ll see you on that field.” Liz snapped. Back at the hotel, Scott and Lacy were waiting in the lobby for everyone. “What happened?” Scott asked when Sean walked in looking angry still. “She kissed him.” Sean grumbled. “What?” Scott asked, confused now. “Wait till we get upstairs.” Kevin said. He led Alex over to the elevators. Liz came in behind everyone. She saw her Uncle staring at her, but she ignored him. When everyone got upstairs, Kevin, Scott, and Sean turned to Liz. “Explain this now.” Sean said. Liz didn't know where to start. She had gotten herself into this whole thing way over her head. "Stratton is trying to get to me using Liz to do it." Alex tried to convince Kevin, but he just kept starring at Liz. Liz looked thankfully at Alex, but knew that this time she'd have to tell the truth. She sighed and started to tell Kevin, Scott and Shawn everything that had happened and what Stratton had told her. She didn't leave a thing out, not even the kiss. At her mentioning the kiss, Sean started yelling. "Why didn't you tell me this? ? Did you like it? " "WHOA! Kid, you better calm down. You know Liz wouldn't enjoy a forced kiss. She loves you!" Scott stopped his young friend. Liz had tears in her eyes as she looked at her Dad. "I'm sorry, but I just did what I thought was right." Alex had heard enough and slipped out of the room to go to her own. She noticed her door open and carefully peeked around the corner. She snuck inside and looked around to see her room a mess. Her drawers had been torn out and emptied, her mattress was even turned over and her bag, that she had packed already was thrown around and emptied of all its contents. "Whoever did this, obviously didn't find what they came for!" Alex swung around and saw another one of the men she hated more than anything in her life. "What are you doing here, Trivette?" Walker closed the door and smirked when he noticed her face. "Sit down, it's time to talk! And this time, I want the truth!" When she didn't follow his demand right away, Walker pushed her into a chair and stood over her, threatening and mad. "How far are you involved in this, Alex?" She defiantly turned her head but he grabbed her jaw and brought her eyes to lock with his. He noticed the tears and it almost broke his heart. God, why was she on the wrong side of the law and he couldn't just..... "Start talking or I'll make you hurt....bad!" Alex had promised herself to never cry again, ever! Especially in front of a man like Walker. "There isn't anything you can do or say! You don't scare me, Walker! I know nothing about nothing. I am here for the tournament and if you want to arrest me for this, go right ahead!" She wasn't going to talk, no matter what and Walker knew it. "I'll get you out of the competition when I fight you tomorrow." Him and his partner left and Alex threw herself on the bed, sobbing like she hadn't done in years. "I say we just leave!" Sean spoke the words and earned angry looks from Liz, Kevin and Scott. "Well, I don't want Liz around this scum bag any longer. Who knows what he'll do next!" "I can take care of myself, Sean!" "Yeah, we saw how!" Scott mumbled under his breath. "Maybe I can help! This isn't my first time working for Stratton and maybe I can...." Scott shook his head. "No way! There are already way too many people involved. We'll find a way to solve this without anyone else getting hurt!" Scott said it determined but he wasn't sure about it himself. "Alex must know something. Stratton possibly pressured her into other things." Liz said and looked around. "Where is she?" Kevin's look showed great concern. "I think I saw her go to her room about 20 minutes ago." Lacy threw in. Liz had noticed her Dad's look and was certain that he felt something for Alex. She frowned again. She didn't feel good about the thought of her Dad and her Uncle having someone close to them, beside her. Liz watched her father leave the room and scowled. “What’s wrong now?” Scott asked. “Nothing.” She snapped. Taking that tone with her Uncle wasn’t something she normally did. He actually grabbed her arm and warned her to watch her mouth. “Sorry.” Liz muttered. Kevin knocked on Alex’s door and was relieved when she opened the door, but when he saw her room, he was horrified. “What the hell happened in here?” Kevin asked. Alex told him about finding the ranger in her room when she got back. Kevin was getting tired of hearing about this ranger. He helped Alex clean up the room and then he sat with her for a while. He finally decided to admit his feelings for her. Alex wasn’t exactly surprised, but she admitted that she liked Kevin too. “How’s your daughter gonna take this?” Alex asked. “I’m a grown man. My daughter has no business involving herself in my personal business.” Kevin said. Liz paced the room, waiting for her father, but he didn’t come back. It was after one and she was tired and frustrated. “Come on, let’s go back to our room.” Sean said. “I want to know where my father is.” Liz snapped. “What are you so worried about?” Scott asked. Liz didn’t answer him. Suddenly, Kevin walked into the room. “Where were you? Were you with Alex? What, you like her, don’t you?” Liz demanded. Kevin was annoyed with his daughter’s questions, but more importantly, he was angry that she thought she needed to wait around for him. Walker and Trivette were in another room doing some research on Alex and on Stratton. “I know she’s here for something else.” Walker insisted. “Maybe she’s not.” Trivette suggested. “Well, tomorrow, she’ll be out of this competition. Because she’s fighting me and I’m going to get her out.” Walker remarked. “Why don’t we just put a stop to this thing now.” Trivette said. “No, let’s finish this. I’d like to see who comes out on top anyway.” Walker said. “My money is on that guy Nash. He’s good.” Trivette commented. Walker nodded, but he wondered if Kevin’s daughter wouldn’t win this thing. She’d already proven that she was pretty tough. Alex couldn't sleep. She had to fight Walker in a few hours and knew it was gonna be a tough one. She decided to get her stuff and go down to the Colosseum. She grabbed everything and threw it in the bag. She didn't have the money to pay for the room one more day anyway. She quietly left the room. When she walked by Kevin's room, she stopped a minute and smiled. Kevin was so sweet, so caring. She had never thought she would meet a man like that. All of a sudden, the door opened and Kevin walked out. "What are you doing out here?" Alex smiled. "I was gonna check on you!" Kevin admitted. "What about you? Where are you going?" He frowned when he noticed her bag. "I thought I'll go to the Colosseum and train." "With ALL of your stuff?" Kevin didn't buy it. "Well, I'm out of money. I can't afford the room anymore. I'll be ok though." Alex hated admitting that she was broke. Kevin knew that her pride wouldn't allow her to accept money from him, so he decided to leave it alone for now. "I'll come with you and we can train together." Walker thought he'd heard voices in the hallway and decided to check who could be up this late. He opened the door just in time to see Alex leave with Kevin. He woke his partner and told him he was going to see what Alex was up to. Trivette held him back. "I need you to look at this, Walker! Alex has quite a rapsheet which stretches all over the country. But here is where it gets interesting. She was married once and guess who her husband was???" Trivette grinned at his partner's dumbfounded face. "Yup! Derek Stratton himself! She got divorced from him about 2 years ago and hasn't had a steady address since. I'll check his and her bank account....IF she even has one." Walker agreed and told Trivette he was going to the Colosseum to see what Alex was up to, but before he left he gave his partner some new instructions. "She'll lose against me today, she doesn't stand a chance. Once she does, she'll probably skip town and I want you to take her in. I want her to testify against Stratton. Keep her here in the room until I take Stratton down. If you have to tie her up and gag her, do it! She won't stay without fighting you!" Trivette knew Alex and what she was capable of. "Ok. I'll let you know later what I found about the accounts." Walker left to follow Alex and Kevin. Alex hit the dirt again and jumped up frustrated. Kevin wasn't taking it easy on her, but she had asked him not to. Kevin walked over to her to see if she was ok. "Yeah, but this way I'll never beat Walker!" Kevin suggested to take a break, but Alex shook her head. Once again Alex hit the dirt and before she could get up, Kevin jumped on top of her. Alex only struggled for a minute. His eyes locked with hers and he bent down and kissed her. She didn't pull away. Alex wrapped her arms around his neck and returned his kiss. When Walker finally got there, Kevin and Alex were training again. He grinned, but wondered why Alex had chosen him to train with. They seemed to get along, even liking each other. He turned away. He didn't want to see this! Alex was supposed to be a crook and Walker still felt this weird feeling in his stomach every time he saw her. He left and went back to the hotel. Neither Alex nor Kevin had seen him. Alex and Kevin continued training. Liz had the same idea, because she was competing in the finals in the next day or two. Sean went with her. When she got to the coliseum, she walked out onto the wide open field and saw her father lying on top of Alex. Sean saw it too, but he wasn’t surprised. Liz ran towards her father and Alex and she had one thing in mind. She was going to maim Alex. Sean ran after her and started yelling Kevin’s name. Kevin turned and looked. He jumped up when he saw his daughter running toward them. Liz put her fists up and ordered Alex to fight, but Kevin shoved her. “Back off.” He shouted. “What the hell are you doing?” Liz screamed. “None of your business…in case you’ve forgotten I’m an adult.” Kevin said. “Yeah, well she’s my age. Do you get on dating someone the same age as your daughter?” Liz demanded. Kevin slapped her across the face when he heard her. “Don’t you ever talk like that again.” He warned her. The slap had stunned her. Liz backed away and pointed a finger at him. “Tomorrow, I’m going to win my fight and then I’m going to take you on. And you’re going down old man.” She shouted at him. She went to the other side of the field with Sean to train. Kevin watched her, his blood curling at the thought of his only daughter threatening him and calling him an old man. “I’m sorry, this is my fault.” Alex said. “No, you have nothing to be sorry for. My little girl needs to be taught a lesson. She has never disrespected me like that and she isn’t going to start now.” Kevin said. Scott was at the hotel with Lacy and decided to take her to the coliseum to train since Liz and Sean had gone there. When they got to the field, Scott saw Kevin and Alex at one end, while Liz and Sean were at the other. “Oh boy, something’s up.” Scott said. “Why do you say that?” Lacy asked. “Because, my niece and my brother are on opposite sides of the field…that’s never a good thing.” Scott explained. He walked towards Liz first, since he had a feeling that she had caused the rift. “What’re you doing way over here?” He asked. Liz turned around and glared at her uncle, her anger still very apparent. “Shut up and fight me.” Liz said. “Excuse me?” Scott asked. “You heard me.” Liz snapped. “Baby, if I fight you, I’ll hurt you.” Scott warned her. “I don’t care. Hurt me. I’m going to kill my father in this competition in the next day or two, so fight me now and I’ll prove that I’m better.” Liz shouted. Scott could tell she wasn’t even thinking right. This wasn’t like her at all. “I’m not fighting you.” Scott said. “Fine, I’ll go fight my father right now.” Liz snapped. She rushed to the other side of the field with Scott, Lacy, and Sean running after her. “Liz, stop. You can’t do this.” Sean argued. “I can and I will.” Liz said. Kevin turned as his daughter approached him. “Fight me.” Liz said. She put up her fists and saw her father smile. “Gladly.” Kevin said. “What?” Scott cried. “My daughter needs to learn that she’s not going to disrespect me or anyone in my presence.” Kevin explained. “Shut up and fight old man.” Liz shouted. Kevin shoved Alex aside and put up his fists. “Let’s go.” He said. Alex fell back and as she was trying to get back at her feet, Liz had taken the first swing at her father. She was getting ready to step in when Scott pulled her aside. "This is something they need to do. Stay out of it." "But this is because of me! I...." Alex turned around, she didn't want Scott to see her cry. She sat down on the ground and watched father and daughter punching and kicking each other until they finally both stopped, out of breath and worn out. Neither one of them had been able to get a clear win. They were both equally good and Alex wondered if it came to the last fight in the tournament and Liz and Kevin had to face each other, who would come out the winner.

Kevin looked at his daughter and noticed that her anger had subsided. "Now what was that you said about...ummm....old man???" Liz had to grin at his remark. "Ok, ok! You are still good! But I'm better!" Liz stuck her tongue out at him and he hugged her. Sean and Scott rushed over to them and checked them both for any kind of injuries. They both were bleeding just a little and had gotten a few small bruises, but nothing serious.
Alex watched and smiled. This sure was a good way to get rid of frustrations, she thought to herself. "Now that was interesting! Causing trouble, Alex?" Walker sat down next to her. Alex decided to ignore him. "You know today will be your last day at the competition, right?" "We'll see about that! I will give it everything I have and you'll be sorry you even know me!" Alex hissed at him hatefully. He grabbed her arms hard and turned her toward him. "I can't lose this and you know it. Now I know that I am better than you and if you don't want to get hurt too bad, just make it easy on yourself and lay down quick! And don't EVER threaten me again! I still have the warrant in my pocket, remember?" He saw the fear in her eyes and started feeling sorry for being so harsh with her. But he had to keep his distance. She was a crook! He leaned into her and pressed a hard kiss on her mouth.
"Kevin, you might want to check this out!" Scott pointed toward Alex and the Ranger. Before Liz could stop her father, Kevin rushed over and pulled the Ranger up to his feet. "What the hell you think you're doing??? I am sick and tired of you harassing Alex!" He went to take a swing, but Walker was faster and landed a right hook. Kevin fell to the ground and Walker turned to leave. On the way out of the Coliseum he turned and looked at Alex. "Remember what I said, sweetheart!"
Liz saw what Walker had done to her father. Before anyone could stop her, she ran after him and attacked him from behind. Walker turned around and the two started fighting. Walker proved to be a challenge, but Liz held her own in the fight. Kevin had gotten up and joined his daughter and the two of them overpowered Walker. “Don’t ever mess with my father again.” Liz shouted. “And stay the hell away from Alex.” Kevin added. When they turned back, they saw Alex, Sean, and Scott smiling. “What?” Kevin asked. “You two are bound to end up fighting each in this competition.” Scott commented. Kevin looked at his daughter and she looked at him. What would happen if they did end up fighting.
Several hours later, the competition began. Richard Masters faced Lisa Hunt first. Richard Masters came out on top. Jeff O’Neil fought Kevin, but naturally, Kevin won that fight. Then Alex faced Walker. She was worried, because he was tough, but she fought her hardest. Walker was determined to win though. He wanted to take Alex down because he knew things about her. In the end, he knocked her out with a hard kick right to her face. Kevin was out of his seat the moment he saw it. He ran down to the field and knelt beside her. Trivette had come to. He waited while Kevin tried to revive Alex. As soon as she came to, Trivette pulled her up. Alex Cahill, you’re under arrest for assault and battery.” Trivette said as he cuffed her. “What the hell is this about?” Kevin demanded. “Your little girlfriend here beat someone within an inch of their life back in Texas. We have a warrant for her arrest.” Walker explained. Kevin was madder than hell, but not at Alex. He knew this was Walker’s way of harassing her. “Where are you taking her?” Kevin asked. “Back to the hotel…she’ll stay there until we’re ready to return to Texas.” Trivette replied. Kevin could do nothing as Alex was led out of the coliseum.
Kevin turned to Walker and pointed at him. “I want you.” He said. Walker nodded and walked away. Kevin returned to his seat to wait for his chance to take Walker out of the competition. Liz faced Richard Masters next and beat him easily since he was much smaller than she was. Kevin returned to the field after that to take on Walker. Liz watched the fight, wondering who she’d be facing in the final round. It was set to take place tomorrow, but she wasn’t sure who she’d be fighting.
Walker’s fighting style proved to be brutal, but Kevin was bigger and stronger. The fight was a bloody mess, but in the end, Kevin managed to knock out Walker with one solid punch. Liz cheered for her father and then she laughed. “What’s so funny?” Sean asked. “I have to fight my Dad.” Liz remarked. Scott smirked. Kevin might love his daughter, but Scott knew that he was determined to win this thing. When it came to fighting, Kevin never liked to lose.
When Kevin came back to his seat, he hugged his daughter. “You do realize that I’m going to have to hurt you, Dad.” Liz said. Kevin smirked at her and shook his head. “I taught you everything you know. There’s no way you’re gonna take me out.” Kevin retorted. “We’ll find out tomorrow.” Liz replied. “Right now, we’ve got to get to Alex.” Kevin told her. Liz followed him along with everyone else. They rushed back to the hotel and went to the room Trivette was holding Alex in. Kevin was glad when Trivette opened the door and let them into the room.
Kevin looked around but there was no sign of Alex anywhere. "Where is she?" He demanded. "I don't know! The d**n pregnant dog kicked me in the head and before I knew it she was gone!" Kevin grabbed Trivette by the collar. "If she gets hurt, I'll be after you and I don't care if you are a Texas Ranger or the d**n president himself! Oh, before I forget, this is for calling Alex a pregnant dog!" He knocked Trivette out cold.
Liz had watched her Dad and realized just how much he seemed to care about Alex. Sure she didn't like it one bit, but she wanted nothing more but to see her Dad happy. "What are we gonna do now?" Scott looked at Kevin and hoped that his brother wouldn't do anything stupid. "Find Alex!" "How are you planning on doing that? Los Angeles isn't really a small town!" Liz protested but knew her Dad wouldn't give up. "I want you, Sean and Lacy to stay here while Scott and I go look for her. If Walker or Trivette give you any trouble, do what you have to." Kevin and Scott left.
Alex wiped the blood from her face. "You are not getting away with this Derek!" Stratton looked at her and grinned. "I already have, Darling!" Alex knew he was right and momentarily regretted her decision to escape from Trivette. But she was determined not to go back to jail. Now she was here with Stratton and things looked even worse. "Sit down, Alex! I want to share some news with you." She defiantly stood and didn't move. He roughly pushed her down in the couch. "The 5 million Dollars are safe and sound in your bank account. Too bad you won't have the chance to spend a dime of it! Sign this paper now!" He handed her a pen. "That would give you access to my account! What in the world makes you think I'll sign this?" Stratton smacked her again. "You sign this or else!" Alex stood up to him. "Or else what Derek??? You gonna kill me? Go ahead! I don't have a d**n thing to lose. The only thing I ever cared about you already took from me. So go screw yourself!" She spat in his face.
When Walker came to, he rushed to the hotel. "Walker, she's gone and Nash and Hall are looking for her!" "Let's go talk to Nash's daughter, she probably knows where he went. If they won't talk, we can get them for assault on a Texas Ranger!" Walker was calm on the outside but inside he worried to death about Alex. What if Stratton had gotten a hold of her? Trivette knew his partner well enough to realize that Walker had developed feelings for Alex. He wondered if this was a good thing. Personal feelings were never good in a case.
Liz and Sean heard the knock at the door and were ready. "I need to know where your Dad went! I believe Alex is in great danger and if your Dad gets involved he could get himself killed!"
Liz laughed when she heard Walker. “My dad can take care of himself.” She said. “Look, you don’t know what’s going on here.” Trivette argued. “I don’t care either. My dad likes Alex and he went to save her. He’ll do it and there’s nothing you’re going to do to interfere with that.” Liz remarked. “I’ll take you down with that no good loser if you don’t answer me.” Walker said. “You can’t take me down for anything. I haven’t done anything wrong.” Liz insisted. “You attacked me.” Walker said. “You attacked my father.” Liz retorted. “Your father attacked me first.” Walker reminded her. Liz wouldn’t budge though. “Have it your way.” Walker said. “Wait.” Liz remarked. “Look, my dad really likes Alex. I don’t want to screw that up for him.” She insisted.
“Alex is a crook.” Walker said. “How so?” Sean asked. “She was married to Stratton. She knew that this competition was illegal.” Trivette explained. Liz wasn’t sure if she should believe the Ranger and his partner. “Trust me. Look, you can come with me. I’ll prove it.” Walker said. When she nodded, Sean started yelling. “Look, just stay here with Lacy.” Liz pleaded. “No way, I’m going.” Sean said. “Me too.” Lacy added. “Fine, let’s go.” Walker remarked.
When they got into Walker’s truck, Liz told him where to go. Walker raced to the Stratton Corporation Offices. When they got there, everyone got out and rushed inside. Kevin and Scott were inside arguing with Derek. Walker rushed at Derek while Kevin tended to Alex. “Hey, I’ll disqualify father and daughter from the finals of this competition.” Derek shouted. Liz heard that and freaked out. She went after Walker again and stopped him from hurting Derek. “You do what you have to tomorrow. I’m fighting in the final against my father and there is no way you’re going to interfere with that.” Liz shouted.
“Fine, you’ve got until tomorrow.” Walker warned Derek. He and Trivette took Alex into custody again, against Kevin’s wishes. “Hurt her and you’re a dead man.” Kevin threatened. “I give you my word, she won’t be hurt.” Walker said. He didn’t mention that he only wanted Alex to testify against Stratton once the competition was over. “I can’t wait to see father and daughter fight tomorrow.” Derek commented after Walker and Trivette had left with Alex. “Like the ranger said, after tomorrow, you’re mine.” Kevin retorted. He led Liz, Sean, Scott, and Lacy outside. “I thought I told you to stay at the hotel.” Kevin shouted at his daughter. “Walker was going to arrest me.” Liz snapped. “For what?” Scott asked. “For attacking him yesterday.” Liz replied. “This guy is really starting to get on my nerves.” Scott grumbled.
Alex spent a long, sleepless night alone with Walker and Trivette. They badgered her all night about testifying against her ex-husband. But Walker kept his word. He didn’t hurt Alex at all.
The following morning, Liz went with her father to train at the Coliseum. “We’ll meet you there.” Scott promised. They spent an hour training together. “Are you ready for this?” Kevin asked. “Ready as I’ll ever be.” Liz replied. “Can you do this?” She asked. “Of course. A fight is a fight and you’re capable.” Kevin replied. Liz smiled. This would definitely be interesting.
The Coliseum filled up at eight that morning. Derek was there, along with Logan. Walker, Trivette, and Alex were there. Scott, Sean, and Lacy had also come. Kevin and Liz stood on the field waiting for the inevitable.
“Welcome everyone, we’ve finally come to the last fight of this competition. Father and daughter will challenge one another. Both are equally as strong and smart, so there is no way of know who will win this fight. Anything goes, but no weapons. Now, everyone…get ready for the ultimate street fight.” Derek said.
Logan walked over to Liz and Kevin. When he nodded, Kevin backed up and Liz put her fists up. She took a swing and missed. Then she took another one. This one connected with Kevin’s jaw. Kevin flinched, but he simply smiled. Then he came back with a punch of his own, knocking his daughter to the ground. Liz raised her legs and wrapped them around his, flipping him onto his back. She rolled over and nailed him in the face with a hard kick. Kevin laughed at her. This made Liz angry. She grabbed him and for the first time ever, she lifted him up and completely flipped him over her head and onto his back.
“d**n.” Scott muttered. “Strong.” Sean agreed. “She’s not doing too bad.” Walker said. Alex nodded.
Kevin wrestled with his daughter for a good five minutes before she retaliated and hit him with a left hook. Then a right, then a left, then another right. Kevin reeled and fell backwards. Liz was winning. Kevin never liked to lose though. He got up and got her into a chokehold. “No fair.” Liz croaked. “He said anything goes.” Kevin reminded her. Liz nodded and elbowed her father several times to get him off of her. Then she backed up, jumped and used both legs to kick him in the stomach, completely knocking the wind out of him. Kevin hit the dirt with a thud and gasped for air. Liz took advantage of this and started punching him in the stomach repeatedly. The loss of air to his lungs made Kevin feel weak. Seeing that her father wasn’t getting up, Liz backed away. She waited, but Kevin was still gasping for air.

“I think it’s over.” Alex said. Kevin started to sit up, but Liz decided to finish him off. She kicked him hard in the face and sent him down for the last time. Derek rushed over and grabbed Liz’s hand. “We have our winner.” He shouted. She smiled until he grabbed her and kissed her. Liz shoved him away and started beating on him hard. Walker decided to make his move. He rushed out onto the field and grabbed Derek, shoving him to the ground hard. Then he cuffed the man. “You’re under arrest for running illegal street fights.” Walker shouted. “What about my money?” Liz demanded. “There is no money.” Derek said. He started laughing. Liz went after him again, but Trivette grabbed her.
Kevin finally got his wind back and stood up. “Get your hands off of my daughter.” He shouted. Alex spit in her ex-husband’s face. “I hope you rot in prison.” She said as Kevin went over and put his arm around her. “You’ll pay for this. All of you will.” Derek screamed as Walker led him off of the field. Trivette followed him. “Don’t leave town.” He warned Alex. “I’m not going anywhere. I’d love to see that man go to jail.” She promised. When she turned around, Kevin kissed her. Liz felt like pulling them apart, but her Uncle had stopped her. “Don’t do it.” He warned her. Liz grimaced as she stared at her father and Alex. The girl was only a few years older than she was. “How disgusting.” She thought.
"Thanks guys! Without your help I couldn't have made it!" Alex smiled at everyone and then stuck her hand out at Liz. "Liz, you are truly a great fighter and I have to thank you probably more than the others." Before Liz realized what was going on, Alex hugged her and whispered in her ear. "Please give me a chance. I really like your Dad a lot. And I'm not as young as you think I am!" Alex grinned at Liz's baffled face. The she turned to Kevin. "Can we please go and get some food? I am starving!" Kevin lifted her up and kissed her again. "Good idea! Let's go celebrate!" Stratton was held in the local jail until Walker and Trivette had finished. "Walker, what happened to the 5 million Stratton had? Where is it?" Walker shrugged. "I guess we'll have to try and find out, huh?"
Liz and Sean, Scott and Lacy and Kevin and Alex went to the most expensive restaurant in town. "Your most expensive bottle of Champaign please! We have to celebrate the World's best Street fighting Champion!" Kevin's pride about his daughter's win was more than obvious. They celebrated until late at night. Alex felt a little dizzy from all the Champaign, so Kevin just scooped her up and carried her. Alex smiled and cuddled herself as close as she could into his strong arms. For the first time in years she felt safe, protected and loved.
Walker and Trivette stayed out of sight but watched every move of the group. "I know she's got the money! We just need to find out where!" Trivette was getting impatient. Walker was getting annoyed with the way Kevin had his hands all over Alex. In a way he had hoped that maybe Alex and him could be together. He was sure he could bring her on to the right way. His stomach turned and he about had to throw up when he saw Kevin and Alex kissing.
After Liz and Sean had gone to their room, Kevin carried Alex to hers. "Will you stay with me tonight?" Alex purred and smiled at him. "That was the plan...." Kevin grinned and layed Alex down on the bed. He turned the light off and crawled under Alex's covers....
"Well, I guess that leaves you and me,huh?" Scott looked at Lacy and realized that both of them had the same idea. Scott leaned over Lacy and kissed her. She just reached over and turned the lights off.
Liz and Sean sat in their room and talked about her win today. "It's just too bad that there was no money! That would have really put the icing on the cake." Sean grinned. Liz thought about something else and Sean wondered why she was so quiet. "What's wrong?" "Nothing!" Liz frowned and Sean figured that she was upset about her Dad dating Alex. "Is it about your Dad seeing Alex?" Liz shook her head. "Yes....I'm not sure why, but there is something about her." Sean smiled and pulled her into his arms. "Your Dad is a grown man and he really needs someone to love. Do you want him to die an old, lonely and grumpy man?" Liz had to smile at that thought. "No, not really, I guess!" Sean kissed her and suggested to go to bed.
The next morning everyone met downstairs for breakfast. Kevin and Alex were so busy talking to each other and smiling constantly, that Liz thought she'd have to throw up. Finally they paid attention to everyone else at the table and it turned out to be a nice friendly breakfast.
"Nice little family there, huh Trivette?" Walker's ironic remark didn't get the reaction he had expected. Kevin looked up real quick and then turned his attention back to his food. Alex got up and stood eye to eye with him. "I already agreed to testify! That's all I can do. Now leave us alone or I will sue your sorry ass for harassment, ok?" She never stopped smiling and her tone of voice stayed calm. "Where is the money?" Trivette threw in. "What money?" Alex looked confused. "The 5 million Dollars!" "How the hell would I know? I'm not married to that dirt bag anymore so what makes you think he would tell me anything?" Walker didn't buy it. "I know he told you! So, where is it?" Alex shrugged. "If you believe I know, fine! But all I can tell you is that I don't have a clue! Now if you'll excuse me, we are having breakfast and last I checked none of us like PORK!"
Walker was offended by Alex’s remark, but he left quietly. “We’re going to check out her bank accounts. If I find out that she’s got that five million dollars, she’s going down.” Walker said. Trivette made a call and talked to a personal friend about Alex. Twenty minutes later, they had the information they needed. Walker asked for a warrant and returned to where Alex was having breakfast with everyone.
“I had you checked out. I know you’ve got that five million dollars. Now, you can come quietly and withdraw the money, or I’ll arrest you and book you for the same thing that your ex-husband is going down for.” Walker said. Alex’s face turned pale when she heard him. How had he managed to find out about the five million dollars. It had been placed in a dummy account. “What do you mean ex-husband?” Kevin asked. Liz gasped. She hadn’t realized that her father didn’t know about that. “Alex was married to Derek Stratton.” Walker said. Kevin was upset, but not enough to dismiss her. He knew that Walker was just trying to goad her and he wasn’t going to sit by and let that happen.
“What’s it gonna be?” Walker asked. “Fine, you know…you can have the money. I don’t care anymore. I’ll make money another way.” Alex snapped. “Excuse me, I’ve got to take care of this.” Alex said. “I’ll go with you.” Kevin offered. She nodded and smiled at him as he walked over to her. “Fine, let’s go. I want to get this over with. Since you’re cooperating, I’ll tear up both warrants as soon as I get that money.” Walker assured her.
Liz was appalled that her father would continue to associate with an obvious criminal. She opened her mouth to say something, but Scott gave her a warning look. “Don’t you dare disrespect your father again. We had all this worked out. He’s an adult and he can make decisions for himself. “ Scott scolded. Liz sunk down in her chair and sighed. “You should be happy. You beat your Dad in that competition.” Sean remarked. “It was a fake. It wasn’t even legal and I didn’t win the prize money.” Liz reminded him. “You still beat your father. Both of you fought with the intentions of winning that money and being the champion, so you really are the champion.” Sean said.
Kevin followed Alex into a nearby bank. She asked to speak to the manager and gave him some identification. He led her to the back where she signed several documents. Then the money was brought out to her in bags. She handed them to Walker and smiled. “There, now you have your money. Tear up my warrants and let me go about my business.” She growled. Walker took the warrants out and showed them to Alex. Then he tore them up right in front of her. “If you don’t t testify, I’ll have these reissued.” Walker promised her. “Just name the time and place and I’ll be there.” Alex retorted. “The trial is in two days. I managed to get it pushed up because I don’t want this punk to think he’s going free.” Walker said. Alex was surprised and impressed. Walker managed to do something good for a change.
The group spent the rest of the afternoon touring Los Angeles. Kevin and Alex spent a quiet evening in the hotel room alone. Scott went to Lacy’s room and Liz went to her own with Sean. Kevin and Alex had a lot of talking to do. “You can start by telling me about this money. How did you end up with it? And why didn’t you mention that you’d been married to Stratton. I could have helped you.” Kevin told her. He folded his arms and waited patiently for her to explain.
Alex looked at Kevin and started talking. It wasn't easy for her and she wasn't sure if Kevin could possibly still like her afterwards, but she needed to be honest with him.
"Ok, I married Stratton about 5 years ago. I had met him during a competition. I thought I loved him, but I was wrong. He turned out to be a scum bag like a lot of men. He started abusing me, verbally and physically. I found out about a lot of his illegal businesses and he made me pay for what I knew. About a year ago, I finally found the courage to leave him and put in for the divorce. Stratton was worried because I knew too much about his dirty jobs and always had someone watch me. A lot of times, he was the one. He was running most of the tournaments I took part in so he still had his hands on me. When he grabbed me a few days ago, he told me that he had put the money in my account. He needed it laundered and my account was the easiest way to do that. I refused to sign papers that would give him access to my account. He threatened me, but I still didn't sign them. That's when you guys came in the office and got me out. Thank God for that! That evening I went to the bank and transferred the money to a dummy account. I figured since he was going to prison anyway and he had treated me this way all of these years, I deserved the money. But I guess, Walker outsmarted me on this one. I know it was wrong...but I needed the money!" Kevin had listened to her story and wondered what she'd need the money for. "If you are wondering what I need the money for... I wanted to buy a little house in Florida and just live a normal life. No more street fighting. And I need to get away from Walker, too! This cop is getting to me so bad....I can't even hate him anymore. He was just doing his job. But my hate for him is over. I'm tired of hating and fighting....All I want is a nice little house and a nice quiet life. Is that too much to ask for?"
Alex had tears in her eyes when she finished talking. But this time she wasn't trying to hide them. She wasn't ashamed to cry in front of Kevin. Kevin still hadn't said a word and Alex looked up at him. Her voice was quiet and shaking when she spoke the words she was scared would change everything. "If you want to leave, I understand...."
Kevin was horrified that she’d even suggest such a thing. “No of course I don’t want to leave. I’m happy that you trust me enough to share that. And wanting a nice little house isn’t too much to ask for, but I’ve got something better. You can come and live with me. Liz lives only a few blocks away, so you’ll be able to see her too.” Kevin suggested. Alex was a little reluctant to accept his offer because she didn’t want him to think she was a freeloader, but Kevin insisted, so she finally accepted.
“Babe, why don’t we go home.” Sean suggested. “What about my Dad and Uncle Scott?” Liz asked. “Walker never said that you needed to be at that trial. I think we should just leave.” Sean said. “Okay, well let me just go and tell them.” Liz said. “No, let’s just go. I don’t want to tell anyone. I just want to go home and take the week off so that you and I can be together.” Sean said. That afternoon, she and Sean packed their things. They never told anyone that they were leaving the hotel. They checked out that evening and boarded a flight two hours later. “I’m so glad we’re going home.” Liz said. “Me too…that was one hell of a week.” Sean remarked. “Do you think Alex will come back with my Dad?” Liz asked. “Maybe, they really seem happy.” Sean said. Liz shrugged. She liked Alex, but the thought of her father dating someone close to her age was a little weird.
Scott and Kevin met up later and decided to have dinner together. “Hey, let’s go check on Kid and Liz.” Scott said. They went down to Liz’s room and knocked, but there was no answer. “That’s funny, she didn’t say anything about going out.” Kevin commented. “Maybe the desk clerk knows where she is.” Scott suggested. They went down to the lobby and talked to the clerk. “I’m sorry Mr. Nash, your daughter and her boyfriend checked out a while ago.” He told them. “They checked out?” Scott asked. “That’s right. They left here several hours ago.” The clerk replied. “Why would she check out without telling me?” Kevin wondered aloud. “Call her.” Scott said. Kevin did, but Liz didn’t answer her cell phone. “I’ll call Kid.” Scott offered, but Sean didn’t answer his cell phone either. “Now I’m going to worry.” Kevin muttered. “I’m sure they’re fine.” Scott insisted, but Kevin wasn’t convinced. There was no way for him to find out though. He’d have to wait until he got home. Then he’d make his daughter understand that it wasn’t nice to scare people.
Two days later, Alex, Scott, Kevin, and Lacy went to court. Alex was prepared to testify like she’d promised. She sat in court beside Kevin feeling tense because she’d have to come face to face with her ex-husband. “Don’t worry, he can’t get to you now. He’s going to be coming in here in chains.” Scott said. “Really?” Alex asked. “Yeah, I’ve been in prison before.” He admitted. Lacy seemed surprised, but Scott told her he’d explain later.
When Derek came out, he fixed his eyes on Alex, but Kevin kept her talking so she wouldn’t have to look at him. “We’ve got our star witness right here. The Prosecution calls Alex Cahill to the stand.” A woman named Tanya Bennings said. Walker was sitting at a table with Tanya, a woman who worked for the state of California. Alex took the stand and told her story, giving the prosecution exactly what they were hoping for. The defense took over and challenged all of Alex’s statements. They accused her of committing crimes, but Tanya stood up and came to her defense. “Your honor, in exchange for the witness’ testimony, we’ve offered her full immunity from any crimes she may have committed.” Tanya said. The judge nodded and the Defense attorney rested his case because there was nothing he could say about Alex that would make her a bad witness.
“These proceedings will convene at nine a.m. tomorrow morning, at which time I will render my decision in this matter.” The judge said. Kevin, Scott, Lacy, and Alex returned to the hotel to wait for their final hour in court. Alex was tense for most of the day, but when they returned to court in the morning, the Judge convicted Derek and sentenced him to twenty years in prison with the possibility of parole in ten. Alex saw Walker staring at her as she left the courtroom, but she ignored him. She wasn’t going to ruin the opportunity that Kevin was giving her. Finally, she was going to have something nice.
Later that night, the group of four went to the airport. Walker was flying out at the same time and he ran into Alex at the airport. “So, this is it huh?” He asked. Alex nodded. Kevin came up behind her and put his arms around her waist. “You know, I always thought…” Walker started to say, but he stopped himself. What was the point? She was leaving with Kevin. “Never in a million years, Ranger. You’re too tough for me.” Alex said. She turned and walked away with Kevin. Trivette noticed the sad expression on his partner’s face, but Alex didn’t. She boarded the plane with Kevin and she never looked back to see how hurt he was.
“I am so glad we’re home. It’s nice to be able to relax.” Sean said. Liz was sitting beside him on his couch, tucked under his right arm and she had no intentions of moving. “You know what we should do.” She said, suddenly. “What?” Sean asked. “Let’s get married.” Liz said. “Huh?” Sean asked. “Come on, right now. Let’s go get married.” Liz said. “What about your Dad?” Sean asked. “Forget him. Let’s go get married right now.” Liz repeated. Sean hesitated. “Do you love me?” She asked. “You know I do, babe.” Sean insisted. “Then let’s get married.” Liz remarked. Sean smiled at her. “Okay, let’s go get married.” He agreed.
Sean and Liz went to a wedding chapel in Orlando and tied the knot without her father’s knowledge. After that, they got a hotel room in Orlando and spent the entire night making love to one another. When they got back to Sean’s the following day, Liz realized that her father would be home in a few days. “Oh my gosh.” She muttered. “What’s wrong?” Sean asked. “My dad is totally going to kill us.” She said, laughing. Sean laughed with her.
Two days later, Liz went out alone. She had a feeling that something wasn’t right. She stopped at a drug store and bought what she’d gone for. Then she went back to Sean’s. “What’s in the bag?” He asked. Liz ignored him and went to the bathroom. “Babe, what’re you doing?” Sean asked. He was on his way to the bathroom to see what Liz had bought. She had the door closed and when he tried to open it, he realized it was locked. “Babe, are you okay?” Sean called. “Yeah, I’ll be right out.” Liz replied. Five minutes later, Liz opened the door. “What’s going on?” Sean asked. “Now my Dad is really going to kill me.” She said. “Why?” Sean asked. “Because, I’m pregnant.” Liz said. Sean was thrilled, but Liz was genuinely scared. Not only had she gone and gotten married without consulting her father, but now she was pregnant too.
